What’s on in July

Garstang Arts Centre

July Art Exhibition

From Tues. 5th to Thurs. 28th July, CATHY DANIELS will delight and entertain us with her exhibition of colourful, quirky paintings.  Cathy is a self-taught artist, originally from Warrington but now living in Wrea Green. All Cathy’s paintings are for sale at reasonable prices; an opportunity to own a piece of original art.

We at Garstang Arts Centre are hosting a new venture for us – a Plein Air painting competition to take place in and around Garstang on Saturday 3rd Sept. 2022.

We welcome artists both professional and amateur to take part with the chance to win cash prizes.

Visitors can enjoy watching original pieces of art being created in just one day and take in all that our wonderful historic town has to offer.

You can sit and listen and join in if you wish. On Friday, June 24th our title is “Your own or Favourite Poem” (which gives you plenty of scope).  The poems are led by Bill Barnes. Book Club

As the magazine deadline is before our meeting, I’ll report on our current books next time. So this is a good opportunity to tell you some information about our group. We meet on the second Tuesday of every month at 10.30 to discuss our selected books, (usually two).
We also like to hear about other books the group have been reading individually. Some of these may become group readers or just passed around amongst the group. There’s always plenty to share and talk about.
