What’s on in February

Art Exhibition

Following on from our very successful Open Competition & Exhibition,  we are
delighted to welcome back Blackpool born & bred Ken Dagger.

Ken is recognised by many for singing Gilbert & Sullivan Operas in the Fylde.
After studying art at school he maintained an interest in art but rarely had time to
paint due to his busy lifestyle. After the death of his wife ten years ago he started
painting again and is a member of Blackpool Art Society.

Ken’s exhibition may be seen from Tues 15th February to Saturday 12th March.

All profits from the sale  of any of his paintings are donated for the care of
patients suffering from Leukaemia.

Garstang Ukulele Group

After an extended break we will be returning to the Arts Centre for our regular
Sunday practice on 30th January, unless the pandemic worsens beforehand. We
had to cancel a couple of gigs in January, but in both cases the groups we were
meant to be playing for also chose to postpone their events. Hopefully we will be
able to get back to partying soon, though we now prefer to call it work .
If you would like to book us or join us, please check out our website at

Garstang Musical Productions

Here at GMP we are glad to be singing again. Singing together in harmony is
food for the soul. We are still considering our next show and keeping a close eye
on changes in government guidelines and are planning something really special.

Book Club

The Book Club meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 10.30. We enjoy
talking about a range of books and are never short of suggested reads! In
February we are discussing ‘Between the Stops’ by Sandi Tosvig, which is a
humorous account of her journey on the no12 bus in London and the stops in
between. We will also be discussing ‘Miss Benson’s Beetle’ by Rachel Joyce,
which is about the travels of a lady and her companion as they search for a
beetle that may or may not exist.
