What’s on in October

Art Exhibition

The exhibition by local photographer Brenda Hempton continues until the 14th October.  Her subjects are quite eclectic but she is particularly interested in textures and uses fine art textured paper to give a painterly feel to some of the images.

From the 19th October, there will be an exhibition of wall-hung ceramics by members of the Northern Potters Association.   The aim of the association is to encourage & support artists in the production of sculptural, functional, fine art & decorative studio pottery in all it’s forms.

Garstang Ukulele Group

We have been meeting outside for a few months now and will continue to do so if the weather permits. We have also planned for meeting indoors again with limited singing as that seems to remain a high risk activity.

We have been taking bookings and will be playing our first gig in October.

Songbirds

Well ladies as you know we resumed our meetings on the 27th September and as this article had to be in before the 27th there isn’t anything to report except it will be so uplifting to back together enjoying time singing . Hopefully things won’t change and we will continue our afternoons in song for the foreseeable future. Keep well and stay safe.

Garstang Arts Centre – 200 Club

This is a great fundraiser for the Arts Centre and there will be a big double draw later in the year. If you haven’t paid your subs this year, please pop into the Arts Centre and see Hilary. Many subscribers pay by standing order which is great but it is going to become increasingly difficult to pay in cash and cheques when Barclays closes. If there is a volunteer willing to take over the running of the 200 Club next year, please let myself or Hilary know. Thank you.
