We are delighted to welcome artist and sculptor Michael Hipkins MRSS to the Arts Centre in July.
Michael (b.1942) studied at Blackpool College of Art before continuing to study painting in Paris and then etching and printmaking at S.W.Hayter’s Atelier 17.
In March 2020, Michael suffered a stroke and then Covid. However as soon as he was discharged from hospital, he returned to painting and has produced over 120 works of art. This exhibition charts his journey to recovery through the imposed isolation of both illnesses and lockdown – opportunities to observe nature more closely in this scenic area of the North West.
Michael’s work may be seen from Tuesday 27th July to Thursday 19th August.”
