A thriving group of artists who’s skill based collaborative tuition has allowed member’s work to take on new and exciting directions.
Over the last year, experienced members have been sharing their expertise with one another in weekly sessions of small focused groups. An emphasis on drawing and watercolour tuition builds and strengthens foundations of colour mixing, compositional understanding and form accuracy. This peer lead teaching has seen rapid development in the members expanse of skills, learning tips and tricks from one another.
You will see some members work here who will be exhibiting for the first time; now including acrylics and pastels.
Over Wyre was formed in 1972 and still have members from around this emergence who are exhibiting today. Quite often professional artists are invited for demonstrations of their techniques, or their own experienced artists will conduct work along practice. This is followed up with a tutor led workshop to further encourage and develop skillsets.
“There is a story behind every painting, what inspired us to paint? Is there a memory connected to that landscape? Was the painting to please a family member? Or was it just a challenge?
In all cases, we enjoyed preparing for this exhibition and we hope you enjoy viewing our paintings. “
