Garstang Ukulele Group

Garstang is now fully in bloom and our ukulele group is full of the joys of Spring. We have a packed programme of gigs and concerts ahead of us for Spring and Summer. New members have joined us, adding more flavour to our sound. Also many new songs have been included in our playlist as we challenge ourselves to bring fresh ideas, some rabble-rousers and even speciality songs to our performances.
Our repertoire is extensive and we can create a bespoke playlist for every occasion. You name it, we can probably play it because we like the challenge of thinking every song is a ukulele song.
So, if you would like us to add music, fun and laughter to your celebrations then, email Trevor Phillips at mail@trevorphillips.co.uk or call 01995600378 to find out more about what we can offer.

Ukulele Soup

We are a six-piece performing ukulele group, available to play at community events in and around Garstang. We are led by Andy Stewart who’s stand-up comedy routines are very popular and leave our audiences in tears of laughter.
In July we will be playing at the Garstang Arts Centre in their Lunchtime Concert series on Thursday 11th at 1pm. This is a free concert and everyone is welcome.
On the same day we will be playing at Winmarleigh Village Hall at Stan and Eddie’s Open Mic. This kicks off about 8pm and there is an excellent bar available. So if you miss us at lunchtime, you could catch us in the evening.
If you’d like to book Ukulele Soup, telephone me on 07985 713961.

The Book Club

As usual lots of different views about our May book club choice, also lots of recommendations from members for future reading.  Our book for June reading was “Life After Life” by Kate Atkinson. This is a “what if” book about second chances to live a life differently set in the time stretching between two world wars.  It was also made into a BBC series.
Our next meeting is on Tuesday 2nd July at 10.30am
