EXHIBITIONS
We are delighted to exhibit the work produced by the artists who took part in the very successful ‘PAINT GARSTANG‘ en plein air event, which was held in our lovely town on the 3rd Sept.
During the exhibition, which will run from Tues 26th Sept to Thurs 19th October, there will be an opportunity to buy these stunning views of Garstang and also to VOTE for your favourite work of art.

Drop in session by Lancashire Police Community Officers Tuesday: 3rd October 10-12pm
The FREE ‘Drop In’ will provide help on staying safe online and will act as an opportunity to discuss any local issues directly with local Police. We are hoping to make this a regular drop in – once every 2 months.

Garstang Poetry Appreciation Group
The Poetry Appreciation Group’s October meeting will be held on Friday 27 October at the Arts Centre.
The theme will be ‘Love Poems’. The meeting will be led by Eddie Potter.
Non-members are always welcome. You can bring a poem or two to share with the group or just come along and listen to members reciting a selection of poetry around the theme of the month.
There is a cover charge of £1, refreshments are provided at the end of each meeting.

Garstang Musical Productions
It’s very nearly showtime, and the cast and production team are getting very excited to perform Oliver at Garstang Community Academy on 11th- 14th October.
Tickets are on sale and selling very well, we recommend you book in advance as some of our performances are already nearly sold out.

Ukulele Soup
Ukulele Soup are a 7 piece musical group consisting of: Andy Stewart, Anne Kelsall and Clare Honeysett on concert ukulele, Andrew Rothwell on tenor ukulele, Peter Thornton on concert and baritone ukulele, Paul King on baritone ukulele and Bob Sapey on u-bass.
The band (originally called The Caretaker) formed in the autumn of 2021.
We combine humour and music to entertain and amuse our audiences.

Tuesday Bridge Club
We meet in the Arts Centre Garstang ready to start play at 1.30pm until approximately 4pm, with a break halfway through for refreshments. New members would be very welcome. If interested come to the Arts Centre at 1.15 pm on a Tuesday afternoon for further details or telephone me at 07910046651 .
At the moment we cannot accommodate beginners but probably in the future lessons may be available.
Monday Evening Bridge Club

Garstang Painting Group
In October, members are looking forward to drawing a portrait with a life Model.
Members who took part in ‘Paint Garstang’ are taking part in the peoples vote exhibition.
Members are busy painting pictures for sale at Christmas exhibition and craft fair held on 28th October to 7th December
Workshops are open to non members as well as members.
There are a few places left on our Saturday 14th October workshop by a Cumbrian Textile Artist creating fun collages with paints. Learn a new Skill. Handmade cakes with light refreshments for £1.

The John Towers Big Band
After two very successful concerts as part of the Garstang Arts Festival we are back to our normal routine. Come along any Friday night to The Arts Centre and listen to some really terrific big band music. It’s free and refreshments are provided.

Garstang Book Club
Next month the library book is ‘The Botanist’s Daughter ‘ by Kayte Nunn.
This is a story of two female botanists set in two different time zones. Our second read is any book by Ben Elton and the one suggested was ‘Identity Crisis’.

We are now into our Autumn and Winter term at the Art Centre on Monday afternoons from 1.30 to 3.30.
We continue to enjoy singing together along with a cuppa and conversation.
