A new exhibitor at Garstang Arts Centre is Kylie Miles.

Kylie is 33 years old and currently studying for a BA Hons degree in commercial illustration with Lancaster University.

Despite a difficult childhood at home and at school, Kylie, who has multiple sclerosis and is autistic, is known as ‘smiley Kylie’ – always laughing and smiling even in the bad moments of life which helps her to cope with whatever life throws at her.

Now, halfway through her degree course she is living life as planned to the maximum. Each piece of her work  tells a story and the fact that having a disability shouldn’t stop you from making the most of the time you have.

When she has completed her studies, Kylie’s aim is to see her work in books that appeal to young people.

The exhibition opens on Tuesday 14th February and runs to Thursday 9th March.
